Asus is a leading name in gaming laptops. It’s right up there with Alienware, and other majors in the industry. Despite its high-end specs, the ROG Strix Scar 16 is a portable device. The 17-inch screen is 244Hz – 144Hz and has the resolution of 1080p. This is sufficient to give you a full-on experience. The battery lasts 6-8 hours with mixed use and the fans are quiet even when under load.
The Scar 16 has a design that is a little gamer-like but not overly flashy. Its most notable feature is its prismatic lid, which catches light and shines it through 8,279 tiny holes to create a rainbow-like look. The hinge for the display also lifts the back of its chassis, which increases airflow and makes the keyboard slope towards you. Asus calls it the ErgoLift hinge.
This laptop is great for gaming, but can also handle other processing-intensive tasks like editing videos or image manipulation. It comes with a variety of ports — USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, HDMI 2.0b, 3.5mm combo jack, and Gigabit Ethernet as well as a dedicated SD card slot. The speakers are powerful however they can get shrill and distort when you play them at a high volume So you’ll probably prefer pairing it with headphones.
